Donald M. Daniels, Chairman
Donald Daniels, the company co-founder, has a long history as a leader in the development of managed healthcare delivery systems. He has also been a leading spokesperson and architect of health care financing at both the state and national levels.
Prior to forming The Daniels Group, Don spent 42 years at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, retiring as Chairman of the Board and CEO in 1991.
Don has also served on numerous boards of national and state organizations including Cathedral Healthcare System, NJ State Chamber of Commerce and The Newark Museum.
Kathleen P. Passantino, Principal
Kathleen Passantino is a managing partner in the firm. She has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to forming The Daniels Group, Kathy spent 17 years with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office of HMO Blue, Horizon’s statewide HMO.
Kathy also held the corporate position of Vice President of Horizon’s Managed Healthcare Division and was responsible for Provider contracting and reimbursement, Medical Management, Cost Containment and Utilization Review and Product Development.
Joanne M. “Micki” Proud, Vice President, Business Development
Micki Proud brings over 20 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Vice President of Business Development. She spent many years in Sales & Marketing with Horizon BCBS as well as HIP NJ.
Prior to joining The Daniels Group, Micki was principal of Acadia Benefit Services, an insurance brokerage and consulting firm, and was also principal and co-founder of On Site On Call, LLC, a firm that handles outsourcing of employee/employer communications and worksite marketing.
John C. Passantino, Account Executive
John Passantino recently joined The Daniels Group on a full-time basis as Account Executive. His responsibilities include new business development and client retention. He has worked for the firm on a part-time basis for several years in the areas of operations, billing and sales and marketing.
John is a recent graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. degree in Finance.
These core individuals, combined with a knowledgeable and attentive support staff, make up the very dynamic and highly effective management team of The Daniels Group, Inc.
