In response to the unique needs of our Catholic clients, The Daniels Group has recently formed Catholic Health Consortium (CHC), a group of Catholic Dioceses, schools, hospitals and social service organizations, brought together under one “umbrella” for the purpose of securing better pricing and plan options from insurance carriers. This is a relatively new undertaking for us, but one that is already delivering significant cost savings to our clients.
A particularly exciting highlight of this program is in the area of prescription drugs. We teamed with ExpressScripts, Inc., one of the nation’s leading Pharmacy Benefits Managers, to design a self-funded prescription program for the clients who currently make up the CHC. Each entity is able to select their own plan design and coverage options; however, as part of the Consortium they are able to realize savings of up to 35% off their current prescription program. As membership in the CHC grows, so will the cost savings that can be realized.
In addition to prescription drug coverage, we have begun to add other lines of business like medical, dental and vision to the CHC product portolio and we very recently added products that are specifically geared to smaller organizations.
